Crafting calm—one mindful creation at a time!
Join The Mindfulness Movement for Make & Take: Calming Creations, a creative after-school enrichment class at Pinewood Elementary, offered in partnership with Mounds View Community Education. Perfect for students in grades 1–5, this 3-week series invites kids to explore art as a tool for self-expression, emotional regulation, and relaxation.
Each week, students will design a calming, sensory-rich project to make and take home—building their own personal toolkit for mindfulness. Projects may include:
🍂 Week 1: Falling Leaves Sensory Bottles
Capture the swirling colors and movement of autumn in a personalized calming bottle.
🍎 Week 2: Apple Cinnamon Slime
Stretch, squeeze, and smell this cozy fall-inspired slime for a full sensory experience.
🎃 Week 3: Painted Flower Pumpkins
Celebrate beauty and mindfulness by decorating mini pumpkins with hand-painted floral designs.
Led by licensed teacher Tara Willits, this hands-on class creates a peaceful and engaging space for kids to explore creativity while building SEL skills that support their wellbeing.
