Summer Botany Hike #5 Twin Peaks Trail/Eklunta Lake

I'm excited to invite you all to our 5th botany hike this summer. Please join us for an adventurous hike up the Twin Peaks Trail near Eklunta Lake. We are in mid summer now so expect to see all the major alpine wildflowers; we are also on the lookout for the elusive pink dandelion (taraxacum carneacoloratum).

This hike will be one of the toughest we have this year, being 5.23 miles and 2400 feet in elevation gain.

We will meet at the Twin Peaks Trailhead at 10:30 am and be out for 5-6 hours.

What to bring:
Small backpack
Hiking boots or shoes
Bear spray
Trekking poles (if you have some to help get around the steeper terrain)
Rain/Wind jacket and an extra layer for warmth
Plant identification guidebooks if you have some. (we can share)
Small water bottle
Snacks
