About the event

Bastion Games WH40k Escalation League: The Hunt for Omnis
Starting on Wednesday August 13th we will be hosting our next Escalation League of 2025 for Warhammer 40K: The Hunt for Omnis!

Cost of entry - $25

Tickets can be purchased in store, or online here!

We have made some fantastic improvments from what we learned from the super successful first escalation league, and will be applying them to this one!

Players will be join into two different divisions:

Veteran Division: More experienced players who want to play larger games.

Aspirant Division: Newer and less experienced players who will be able to start with smaller games.
*If you finished in the top 8 of last league, you must join the veteran division.

The league will consist of two stages:

1) Qualifying rounds: Each participant will participate in one match every 2 week round earniong the following victory points:
Win - 5 points
Tie (battle must be completed with equal points) - 4 points
Loss - 3 points
Each consecutive round, you will be paired against someone with as close to the same points as you.

2) Playoff rounds: the top 4 players from both the aspirant and veteran divisions will advance to the Victor's Tourney! This will be a single elimination event where you will be playing for prizes! Your opponents will be based on overall Victory points, where 1st overall plays 8th, 2nd plays 7th, 3rd plays 6th, and 4th plays 5th. This then continues like a regular single elimination playoff bracket!

Players who don't qualify to advance will be able to participate in the Vanquished Tourney. This will operate similar to the Victor's Tourney except it might have more than 8 people. This will be single elimination with a caveat: For any round where there would be an odd number of players, the lowest battle points from that result will also be eliminated. This will continue until there is a winner for the Vanquished event, who will get a prize as well!

We will have a specific channel for this league, reporting, and list submissions on our discord server:
Bastion Games Discord

If you would like to know more details continue reading below!

LEAGUE OUTLINE:

ROUNDS:
This league will be 4 rounds with an 8 person playoff tournament at the end. Each round will be 2 weeks long, and you will have 1 opponent per round. The league rounds will use random pairings for round 1, and swiss pairings for each subsequent round. There will be prizes for all players that make the playoff tournament. At the end of 4 rounds, the top 4 players from each division will be combined into an 8 person playoff tournament. Rounds will go from Wednesdays, to Tuesdays 2 weeks later. This gives players the maximum amount of planning time centered around our specific wargaming days.

LISTS:
Before each round, players will be required to submit up to 2 lists, and before their game begins, they and their opponent will simultaneously choose which of their 2 lists they will be using. Lists must be submitted via discord to BG Nate via message, no later than Tuesday evenings before the next round starts.

****Note: You don't have to submit 2 lists, you can submit just 1 if you prefer****

MISSIONS:
We will be using Chapter Approved 2025-2026 missions. Rounds 1 and 2 WILL NOT be using Challenger Cards. Rounds 3, 4, and the playoff tournament WILL use Challenger Cards. We WILL NOT be using Twist Cards.

DIVISIONS:
There will be two divisions in the league: the Aspirant Division and the Veteran Division. Any player that placed in the top 8 of the last league MUST play in the Veteran Division. There are no other restrictions for entering either division. Please indicate which division you will be joining prior to the start of the league.

RESTRICTIONS:
There will be a game time limit of 4 hours, and there will be a hard dice down rule at 9:30pm. Please do not ask store staff if you can stay late, as it puts unfair pressure on them. The 9:30 dice down time is to make sure that everyone has time to properly clean up. We understand that some people may find it difficult to stay within the 4 hour time limit, but with practice, 2000 point games should be playable in under 3 hours.

ROUNDS 1-4 POINTS, MISSIONS, AND LAYOUTS:

ASPIRANT DIVISION:

Round 1: August 13th-26th: 500 points, Take and Hold, Custom Deployment, Custom Layout

Round 2: August 27th - September 9th: 1,000 points, Mission A, Layout 1

TERRAIN:

We will use Chapter Approved 25-26 layouts. If an exact replica layout is not possible, then both players must agree on a terrain layout before the match can begin. All walls will be considered to have closed windows and doors. Walls will use true height in regards to seeing over top of them, and true thickness in regards to fighting through them. All games will be played on the standard 44x60 table size, EXCEPT for Round 1 of the Aspirant Division, which will be on a 44x30 table.

LEAGUE STANDINGS:

Standings in the league will be determined by the following scoring guide:

Win: 5 points

Tie: 4 points (ties can only occur if a game is completed and your points are equal)

Loss: 3 points

- If a date cannot be agreed on in the duration of the round, both players will get 3 points

- If a date cannot be agreed on because one participant isn't available at all, that person will get 3 points, and the other 5 points.

- If a date is agreed upon, and one participant cannot make it, a reasonable effort needs to be made to reschedule. If a reschedule is not possible, then the player able to attend

the agreed upon date gets 5 points, and the person backing out gets 3 points. If players are tied in points at the end of the 4 rounds, final standings will be based on the following tie break systems:

1) Total Battle Points

2) Total Secondary Points

TOURNAMENT STANDINGS:

VICTORS TOURNEY:
the top 4 players from both the aspirant and veteran divisions will advance to the Victor's Tourney! This will be a single elimination event where you will be playing for prizes! Your opponents will be based on overall Victory points, where 1st overall plays 8th, 2nd plays 7th, 3rd plays 6th, and 4th plays 5th. This then continues like a regular single elimination playoff bracket!

VANQUISHED TOURNEY:
Players who don't qualify to advance will be able to participate in the Vanquished Tourney. This will operate similar to the Victor's Tourney except it might have more than 8 people. This will be single elimination with a caveat: For any round where there would be an odd number of players, the lowest battle points from that result will also be eliminated. This will continue until there is a winner for the Vanquished event, who will get a prize as well!

Sportsmanship and Conduct:

- You are expected to follow the store code of conduct while participating in matches or being in the store, the same as all other players.

- Please don’t throw dice or models in frustration of a game. Please maintain your composure.

- Personal hygiene is a part of Conduct!

- The enjoyment of everyone in the league should be upheld by everyone in the league.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask!
