Group Captain Desmond Scott & the Tangmere Typhoons
Group Captain Desmond Scott, DSO OBE DFC had a meteoric career in the RAF. He rose from Flight Sergeant to Wing Commander in eighteen months. Come along and find out more about this New Zealand Pilot who served in the Second World War, leading 486 (NZ) Squadron from Tangmere.

No. 486 (NZ) Squadron was a RNZAF fighter squadron which used Hawker Typhoons based for a large part of its existence at RAF Tangmere during WW2.
