Green Shirt Table Read

Are you an actor looking to get reps in? Are you a screenwriter or playwright looking to get your in-progress work read out loud? Are you anyone looking to meet other creatives and potential collaborators?

Then the Green Shirt Table Read is for you!

In a warm, welcoming environment, we’ll match actors up with roles to do cold table readings of writers’ work in-progress scripts. We’ll provide feedback for each reading so the writer walks away with valuable notes on how they might like to continue developing their script—and the actor gets a chance to practice their cold reading skills!

After the reading, we’ll linger to mingle and chat over light refreshments. Anyone can join us for this fun and collaborative event—you are welcome to be part of the audience and offer feedback to our writers!

What to Do if You’re a Writer

1. First sign up to claim your spot. Writer sign ups are open from May 15 - June 8. Only 4 spots available!

2. Submit the following materials to YmFpbGV5ICEgaG9sdHogfCBncmVlbnNoaXJ0c3R1ZGlvICEgY29t ASAP after you sign up:

- 10 to 15 pages of your script
- A brief breakdown of the characters who appear in those pages. This should include a short character description (name, age, race, ethnicity, etc. and one sentence about them). Keep casting directions to a minimum and include only if necessary. Please note that depending on the pool of actors who sign up, we may not be able to accommodate your casting needs
- A brief (two to three-sentence) description of your story (aka a logline)

3. Then come to the event on July 11! Show up to the reading ready to read along on your digital device and take feedback!

What to Do if You’re an Actor

1. First sign up to claim your spot - Actor sign ups will be available on June 9

2. Submit your headshot to YmFpbGV5ICEgaG9sdHogfCBncmVlbnNoaXJ0c3R1ZGlvICEgY29t ASAP after you sign up. If you don’t have a headshot, just submit a photo.

3. We’ll send you your script in advance of the reading. If you have time, read through it to become familiar with your role, but otherwise, just bring the script on a digital device you can read off!
