About Chaepter:
Chaepter (pronounced ‘chapter’) is a Chicago-based recording project fronted by Central-Illinois born Chaepter Negro. The project’s core members include John Golden (drums), Ayethaw Tun (bass), Shane Morris (lead), and D Jean-Baptiste (violin/bass/vocals). Chaepter tours and records frequently, with an emphasis on playing DIY venues and instilling homegrown values into their creative process. In March 2024, Chaepter released Naked Era on Candlepin Records, which earned nods from Pitchfork, New Noise, Post-Trash, and others. This release was followed up a year later by their EP Empire Anthems, which was released to tape by Pleasure Tape Records. The band is currently completing two new albums, and has tours planned through the summer and fall. You can reach Chaepter personally at:
