The much-loved Tapton Lock Festival returns for 2025 — and it’s bigger, brighter, and more creative than ever! Set along the beautiful Chesterfield Canal, this free two-day celebration of community and culture is packed with hands-on activities, live performances, and outdoor fun for all ages.
This year, the festival is teaming up with Arts Derbyshire and their exciting touring programme, Festivity, to bring even more arts and culture to the water’s edge.

📕 Storytelling Sessions with performers from Adverse Camber

🤖 Digital Gallery featuring work by 11 Derbyshire visual artists
🛶 Outdoor Adventures: free canal boat rides, canoeing, climbing wall & circus skills
