The film follows Juma Xipaia, a fearless Indigenous leader from the Brazilian Amazon, whose fight to protect her ancestral lands has drawn international attention—and put her life at risk. Despite surviving multiple assassination attempts, she remains steadfast in her resistance to environmental destruction and political corruption.
Shortlisted for the 2026 Academy Awards (Best Documentary), Yanuni was the closing film at the Tribeca Film Festival and has captivated audiences around the world.
