Ack! Where did the summer go?! Join us for the last Meech & Mingle of August! As the weather looks cruddy, we’ll have a short swim then go to Meech & Munch in Old Chelsea for a social gathering.
This is a relaxed social swim that welcomes open water swimmers of a variety of skill levels. We’ll swim a minimum of 800m, and are expecting water temperatures around 22-23 degrees. Weather looks like it may be cold and rainy, but the water will still be very warm. The swim will go ahead unless the weather is dangerous (e.g. extremely poor air quality, a torrential downpour, thunderstorms or winds more than 30km/h - a post in this event and in the OOWS chats by 5:00pm day of will confirm if the swim is cancelled, if there is no post, the swim is on!).
Bring a tow float and a brightly coloured cap to wear (required for all NCC open water swimming).
Meet at the beach at 6:30pm, and feet in the water at 6:45pm sharp.
Paid parking is at P11 (but they don’t seem to charge after 6pm), just make sure to leave yourself about 10 minutes to walk to the beach. We will have our social gathering at Meech & Munch in Old Chelsea after the swim.
