Safeguarding Networking Event

Active Essex Foundation are working alongside Essex Children's Safeguarding Board (ECSB) during the Exploitation Awareness Week 23rd - 27th June 2025.

During this week AEF Sport and Youth Crime Prevention Projectand ECSB are holding a Safeguarding Networking Event (with some breakfast) at Galleywood Youth Centre on the 24 June between 09.30 – 12.30 (longer if the conversations are flowing).

The event will be used to raise awareness of criminal exploitation and explain how to spot the signs, and the theme is SAFEGUARDING. Come along if you want to improve your knowledge of both Exploitation and Safeguarding.

There will be inputs from:

• Kevin Murphy - Safeguarding in Sport Lead - NWG Network
• Wayne Hickey and Marianne Appleton – AE Safeguarding Leads
• Rebecca Scott - Essex LADO, ECC
• Sally-Ann Miller (ECC Involvement Service and Essex Children’s Safeguarding Board)
• Jennie Read, Gangs and County Lines Officer for Essex Police

LTOs are invited, along with staff from statutory agencies and local authorities. We really encourage you to come along and support the day, and the Op Henderson awareness week.
