The Runaround Kent is back and this month we are heading to Boxley Warren – a hidden gem on the North Downs Way – to take on a stunning 10-mile loop that blends history, nature, and some classic Kentish trails.
This beautiful route showcases the North Downs and Pilgrims Way. You’ll weave through ancient woodland, pass vineyards, climb rolling hills, and even run past the megalithic stones of Kits Coty. With a mix of peaceful paths and panoramic views, this route is a perfect introduction to trail running – and it also covers the opening miles of our Winter Wanderlust 50km in December for anyone curious about what’s in store.
As always, this is a super inclusive community event for anyone looking to meet friendly like-minded runners, explore new trails, or simply enjoy some company on a training run.
What to expect
* A guided, group-paced trail run, ensuring no one is left behind
* A mix of woodland paths, scenic open sections, and some testing hills
* Support from experienced trail runners in a fun and welcoming environment
This run is suitable for all abilities and paces. We’re committed to making sure everyone enjoys the experience, with a focus on community, not competition.
The Route
Starting from the Bluebell Hill Picnic Site Car Park, this 10-mile single loop takes you along the North Downs Way and Pilgrims Way, offering a mix of woodland climbs, open fields, and flowing trail sections. With around 270m of elevation gain, expect a few hills — but nothing we can’t tackle together.
The route will not be marked, so runners are encouraged to download the GPX file to their watch or use the OS Maps app with the route uploaded. We will have guide runners across various pace groups, so if you don’t have access to the route, we recommend staying close to one of them.
Parking
There is free parking at the Bluebell Hill Picnic Site Car Park (
https://maps.app.goo.gl/GgR5jXoUoQJ2tmkb8?g_st=ipc). This is a small car park and we must be respectful of other users. If the car park is full, additional parking can be found along Common Road or in Bluebell Village. Car sharing is strongly encouraged and please be respectful of residents of the village.
