SOPA grad Isaiah Sealy aka Komai is back this week, with the very hot Siddhu Sneh sitting in on keys. Komai has brought the Collective 40 with him from Boston for this PEI set of shows, including Siddhu's "i am" release party on Friday at The Guild also featuring PEI's The Umbrella Collective.
40 is a creative collective of artists and musicians based in Boston, devoted to innovative music-making and artistic collaboration. Each performance offers a distinctive blend of original songs and free improvisation, highlighting the unique voices of the groups' members. This set showcases sounds from Komai and Nai Kalbin, bringing together spontaneous energy and crafted compositions that reflect their diverse influences and forward-thinking spirit.
A graduate of our Holland College School of Performing Arts "SOPA" music program, Komai is a songwriter and guitarist in Boston creating music meant to touch your soul. With heartfelt lyrics and soulful melodies, Komai's sound draws listeners in for an emotional connective experience. Komai's music is a reflection of a deep passion for storytelling through song.
Komai, Siddu and Collective 40 will perform two sets - and then around 10:30pm we'll being a third Late Night Jam set. We'll have some fun tunes ready, open for anyone to sit in. Island Jazz runs from 8pm to midnight this week.
Music starts at 8pm, $10 at the door. Island Jazz at Baba's Lounge every Thursday all year long.
