PBS North Carolina's Preview Screening of A Binding Truth
A Special Film Screening and Conversation
You are invited to an advance screening of A Binding Truth hosted by PBS North Carolina and proudly sponsored by Ally Bank.
In 1965, Jimmie made history as the first Black football star at an affluent high school in Charlotte, NC. His transfer and the racial tension it stirred swept him into one of the state’s most volatile civil rights cases. Among his classmates was De, a quiet observer who chronicled the events in his college application essay. Decades later, buried church records unearthed a truth that would reconnect the two men and spark a journey of reckoning, reconciliation, and hope.
Their story is more than personal — it's a reflection of America’s struggle with its past and a glimpse at how healing begins.
