I’m Not From Around Here: Gardening With Native & Exotic Plants

There is much discussion in the gardening world about the types of plants we should be selecting for our home landscapes. “Plant native plants to promote biodiversity and improve the ecosystem.” “Avoid non-native plants at all costs, because they are harmful.” There is so much conflicting information available to us… but what is the right answer? Did you know that there
are numerous definitions for the term “native plant”? Which one is correct? What is the difference between a native, non-native, exotic, naturalized and invasive plant? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using each kind in our landscapes? This talk takes an honest and scientific approach to answering these questions and more!

$15 for non-members
