House of Funk: Funk of the 60s feat. Music of Sly Stone, James Brown, & more

Immerse yourself into the groundbreaking sounds of icons like Sly Stone, James Brown, and more. From the call-and-response grooves of “The Godfather of Soul” to the psychedelic, genre-bending anthems of Sly & the Family Stone, this show is a full-throttle journey through the foundational years of funk music.

The House of Funk band features some of Charlotte’s finest musicians: Courtney Gibson, Jesse Lamar Williams, Zach Wheeler, Braxton Bateman, Simon George, and Stefan Kallander, in addition to sit ins and features of other stunning artists from the deep well of Charlotte Funk.
