Awo Amenumey has been a close friend of Utopian Seed Project for a number of years, cooking at our Trial to Table dinners and sharing food and stories at our Seed Story gathering. A few weeks ago, Awo reached out wanting to host a fundraising dinner for Utopian Seed Project. If you’ve ever experienced Awo’s cooking, then you’ll understand that it was an incredibly easy decision to make this happen! We’re delighted to offer a private four-course dinner at Free Range Brewing in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Awo is the founder of Eh’vivi, whose mission is to bring Ghanaian cuisine to the forefront of the culinary scene. Whether piquing the interest of first-time guests who’ve never experienced the richness of West African food or delivering beloved favorites to those who have a deep connection to the culture, Eh’vivi consistently delivers a high-quality food experience that delights.
As soon as we knew we were coming to Charlotte, Free Range Brewing was top of our minds. Our board member, Jamie Swofford, has a long relationship with the fine folks at Free Range Brewing. In 2020, Utopian Seed Project hosted a corn tasting at the brewery, and we’re excited to return for this event. It’s been too long, and we appreciate their support!
The dinner will showcase some of Utopian Seed Project crops and offer an opportunity to learn a little more about our work while enjoying some delicious food!
