About the event

Dominic Bridge Tango Wednesday Takeover with extra workshop on Thursday
Hello all! We are super excited to announce that the fabulous Dominic Bridge will be swinging through Charlotte next week!

Dominic will stage a TANGO WEDNESDAY TAKEOVER and also offer a special Thursday evening workshop! Three classes in total!

The theme is "FREE LEG FREEDOM!" These classes will explore the mechanics of the free leg in walking, pivots, and culminating in SOCIAL BOLEOS!

IMPORTANT: These classes are PROGRESSIVE, which means they build on each other. Anyone, even total beginners, can take Class 1. But if you want to take Class 2, you must also have taken Class 1. And if you want to take Class 3, you must also have taken Classes 1 and 2.

Cost: $25 for each class. $15 additional for the practica. $80 for everything, and $70 for all three classes. Pay at the door.

In addition, Dominic will be available for private lessons on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning during the day. Contact me for details!

Class 1: Free Leg Freedom
Biomechanics and drills to understand basic tango forms. Focus on leading and maneuvering the free leg in particular, enhancing fluidity and control. Setting the stage for more advanced movements.

Class 2: Rotational Mastery
Deepen your understanding of ochos and pivots to build both strong or effortless movements, paving the way for seamless boleos, ganchos, and more.

Class 3: Social Boleos in Action
Bring it all together as we explore and practice basic boleos, ensuring they’re elegant and effective on the social dance floor.

Finally, the weekend of Nov 7-9, Dominic will be leading a series of workshops in Asheville organized by Mike Eblen! If you like what you're getting with Dominic's classes in Charlotte, consider heading up to Asheville to study with him more! There will be a milonga on Saturday, November 8 in Asheville as well.

Dominic's bio:

Since beginning his Argentine Tango journey in 2005 in the Pacific Northwest, Dominic Bridge www.dominicbridge.com has become one of North America’s most respected tango artists, sharing his passion for the dance across 30+ countries and five continents. Now based in Denver, Colorado, he remains deeply committed to the art of Tango locally and internationally.

Having lived in cities such as Paris, Berlin, Florence, and Moscow, Dominic’s artistic residencies have shaped a global perspective on Tango. He has also contributed to the development of Tango communities in Armenia and India. Fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Italian, he connects with dancers and communities across linguistic and cultural boundaries.

Dancers from around the world seek his guidance for his holistic approach, which blends technical mastery with artistic creativity, while also emphasizing the therapeutic and healing aspects of the dance. In a new collaboration with Colorado-based non-profit Parasol Arts, he holds special classes for persons afflicted by Parkinson’s and other movement disorders.

Beyond teaching, he organizes events, builds Tango schools, and mentors both teachers and performers, fostering a new generation of dancers.

He is also the exclusive distributor of world-class tango shoes: @MonoMyTangoShoes. He helps both amateur and professional dancers alike get the footwear worthy of their passion and wellbeing.

His instruction prioritizes the essence of Tango as a social dance and art of human connection, with a methodology focused on the mastery of embrace, connection, floorcraft, musicality, and improvisation. Through his work, Dominic empowers dancers to discover deeper connections to both Tango and their own artistic expression.
