Pack 49: 2025 USS Constitution Overnight - Charlestown Naval Shipyards - Bunker Hill Trip
On July 19th, Pack 49 will tour Bunker Hill, the Bunker Hill Museum, the Charlestown Navy Yards including The USS Constitution Museum, the USS Constitution, the USS Cassin Young, and the Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center. During the morning and afternoon, the scouts will explore these sites and work on the National Park Liberty Junior Ranger Badge. In the late afternoon/evening the US Navy will host Pack 49 aboard the USS Constitution engaging in naval demonstrations and ending with the pack sleeping aboard the USS Constitution. You can stamp a National Parks Passport at a couple of locations. If you want to start an NPS Passport, it is encouraged to buy one before going because they may be out of stock.

Optional: Patches you can buy patches at Bunker Hill Museum and the Navy Yard Visitor Center. They are both about $6.

9:30-10 AM Meet in front of the big sign that says “BOSTON NAVAL SHIPYARD GATE 1.” 131 FREEDOM TRAIL This will be about a block to your left as you come out of the Nautica Parking Garage.
LEAVE OVERNIGHT SUPPLIES IN YOUR CAR
10:00 AM Start Hike to Bunker Hill
10:30 AM Explore Bunker Hill Museum

July 19th USS Constitution Overnight
4:00 PM 1600 Bring overnight gear to the USS Constitution.
BE PROMPT! We’re on Navy time now! DO NOT BE LATE!
Crew Members will show the pack where to stow their gear and to the Galley for dinner.
Dinner is $5.35 CASH OR CHECK ONLY
After dinner, the crew will lead scouts in performing various outdoor activities such as pike drills, gun drills and facing movements, followed by Evening Colors. This is the ceremonial practice of taking down the flags, and firing our 40mm gun at sunset. The crew will then take the troop on a special tour of the ship, after which the troop will play some games with the Sailors that are based on Constitution knowledge or “Navy things.”

After this time, if you need to use the restroom(head in Navy talk), you will have to be personally escorted by a crew member off ship to use the restroom.
