Watagans Mycology Walk

Mushroom Season is here and have been running this for 5 years now! Monty will be leading an educational walk through the park to help people learn more about the mysterious world of fungi and just generate some healthy mushroom culture together in community.

Documenting the importance of the biodiversity of fungi in our local nature systems is of great importance. While out on our foraging walks I encourage people take photos of fungi which will all go to a data base on iNaturalists where we can collate data on local fungi.

Our mycology walk will include:

-Observing different families of fungi in the State forest
-How to identify mushrooms
-Where to find mushrooms
-Anatomy of Mushrooms
-Freshly cooked meal of mushrooms after the walk
