In partnership with BODW In the City, Good Taste Tastes Good's curator Gabriele Ferrero is inviting you to "Tradition & Innovation Designers Talk" with Barbara Villari - Owner of Villari Srl (Official Website) & Juliet Guo - Founder and Owner of Sand River Cashmere (Official Website), moderated by Fernando Mendez - Design Executive in Hong Kong & Host of 'The last meeting of the week' (website).
Barbara Villari's family has a remarkable legacy in handcrafted porcelain spanning over 50 years in Northern Italy. Recognised by their traditional hand-painted techniques, honed through generations, and their contemporary application in today's design landscape. Some of such pieces are featured in our gallery and embody the fusion of time-honored craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, such as "CRA$Y" designed by Marcantonio & "NOBODY VASE" designed by Fabio Novembre.
Juliet Guo is the founder of Sand River Cashmere, a Fashion 4 Development winner and a celebrated Chinese designer with over 30 years of experience in working with cashmere and precious fibre. Guo embodies the spirit of tradition by selecting the finest cashmere fibers from her homeland and incorporating ancient Mongolian and Tibetan weaving techniques into her vertically integrated brand.
This talk will provide insights into how traditional craftsmanship can adapt and thrive in a modern context. Discover how the Villari family & Guo's dedication to quality and heritage continues to inspire modern innovation in the world of design and fashion, creating a stunning dialogue between the old and the new.
