Ocean-lovers and hikers - Join us for a beach clean up to remember!
We are heading down the south coast 22-24* August 2025 to clean up the Fitzgerald River National Park inlet. It involves an epic coastal trail hike (26km) along Mamang country, traversing the wild coastal track known as the Whale Trail.
The clean up site is at the mouth of the Fitzgerald River and a pile up of marine debris has led to concerns for the health of marine life, including the endangered Southern Right Whales calving in the bay at this time of year.
We meet on Friday 22 August at St. Mary Campground in the National Park, and start the hike out to clean up site at Point Ann carpark, 7am Saturday 23 August.
Crews can camp out Friday & Saturday night at St. Mary Campground. No booking required. BYO gloves and 15-20L backpack. Water bottle and camping gear, if camping. Bring freedive gear if you intend to join us for a dive if weather permits (Friday & Sunday).
Dive sites in the area are famous for Leafy Sea Dragons and Australian Sea Lions!
Camping and park entry fees apply ($15/night, vehicle $22) at St. Mary Campground.
Volunteers must register online with

Our worst nightmare is to see the whales coming to give birth off our WA coast getting entangled or ingesting marine debris. Our objective is to removal trash at the inlet using backpacks and hike the rubbish back to Point Ann for collection.
Lend a hand, enjoy enriching wilderness and give back to our oceans. You’ll be sure to see whales along the coast.
