About the event

History of the Gunnison Tunnel
Did you know that a 5.8-mile tunnel was cut right through the cliffs of the Black Canyon to divert water from the Gunnison River to Montrose and the Uncompahgre? When this tunnel was created in 1909 it was the longest tunnel in the world and an engineering marvel.

Join the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society as we welcome Brody Wilson for a fun evening about local history at the Stolte Shed. Suggested donation $10.
