August Pet Social at Hwy 30 Diner
7pm • August 9th • Hwy 30 Diner, 1519 6th St SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404
It’s still adventure pet season and this month’s Pet Social is your chance to take your training into a new environment with your calm, confident Adventure Team.
We’ll meet on the patio at Hwy 30 Diner for good food, great company, and a real-world training session designed to help your pet shine in the evening summer bustle.
✨ RSVP required by August 7th at kingscreatures.com/pet-socials
Space is limited to make sure every handler and pet has room to train and enjoy the outing.
This isn’t your average pet meet-up.
It’s part of a bigger culture shift—one where pets are calm, handlers are confident, and Adventure Teams set the standard for public behavior.
This is how we build safer, friendlier spaces for pets and people. One calm evening walk, one peaceful patio dinner, one proud moment at a time. Together, we can show the community what responsible pet ownership really looks like.
Who can come:
Pet Socials are open to current clients of King’s Creatures, whether you’ve finished training, you’re currently enrolled, or you’re part of the KCAT Club. These events are only for those who’ve trained with us. If that’s you? You’re in the club.
What to bring & what to expect:
A 6-foot leash
High-value treats to keep your pet focused and engaged
Water for your pet and poop bags (always)
A readiness to train in public, advocate for your pet, and lead by example
We’ll work on calm engagement around distractions, neutral behavior near other dogs, polite public manners, and maybe even play a little patio training bingo.
A quick reminder:
On-leash greetings are not allowed, even with dogs in the group or dogs walking by. This keeps everyone safe and reinforces the neutral behavior that sets therapy animals and adventure pets apart. I’ll help you explain the “why” if you ever need a hand!
Suggested donation:
While these events are free, we suggest a $5 donation per handler/pet team to support Living Creatures Ministry—our nonprofit therapy animal program making a difference across Iowa and beyond.
Your pet is putting in the work. Let’s celebrate it with dinner, community, and a calm, confident evening together.
See you at Hwy 30 Diner!
