In the September Lounge, local Castlemaine Funeral Director, Peter Thompson will talk about options for burial, and the growing popularity of shrouds. Peter is the third generation of the Thompson Family Funeral Business with over 40 years’ experience and well respected in the community for his compassion. It will be an opportunity to ask your questions.
He will be followed by writer, Jill Rivers leading a short memoir session -WRITE YOUR LIFE. We will delve into our memories to recall what has mattered. Please bring something to write on and with.
The Good Grief Lounge is a safe, embracing place to talk about death and dying, to listen, learn and share with people who care in a relaxed environment with music, morning tea and a couple of talks. The purpose of the events is to inform, reduce fear of end of life, to turn around denial and celebrate death as part of life. This event is a follow-on from the Good Grief events at the 2025 Castlemaine Fringe Festival held monthly on the first Saturday of each month. Detailed Advance Care Plan booklets are available at the Lounges for $20.Call Jill Rivers on 0418 389 189 for information or email
