The David McCann Special Effort is our major Club fundraiser!
A life member, the late David McCann put countless volunteer hours into our Club, beginning in the late 1960s and serving tirelessly across many vital roles until his passing in 1994.
David was also the driving force behind the creation of the “Special Effort” fundraising initiative nearly 40 years ago. After his passing, it was fittingly renamed the David McCann Special Effort in his memory, a tradition we proudly continue today.
We honour David McCann’s legacy every year and remain deeply grateful for the foundational role he played in shaping the Castlemaine Football Netball Club into what it is today.
We also consider ourselves extremely privileged to have his wife Elaine, son Sean and his family, continue to support our Club.🖤🤍
