CASTLE HILL ABSEIL - EVENT 1
(Saturday 12 July 7.30am - 10am)

Townsville Hike and Explore is partnering with Kennedy Region Scouts, and offering the opportunity to abseil off one of Townsville’s outdoor icons, with some of the best views of the great city of Townsville, Magnetic Island & surrounding areas you’ll ever witness.
This event is being conducted by fully qualified Instructors from Scouts Queensland.
All proceeds will offset equipment wear, with a small donation going to the Kennedy Region Scouts to support our next generation of outdoor adventurers!
The activity will be broken into four sessions, with each session being 2.5 hours, which should allow each participant 2-3 abseils!
Numbers will be strictly limited to 18 attendees per session.

HOW CAN I ATTEND? / IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION:
The numbers will be capped at 18 people per event, with payment required 1 week before the event.
If payment is not made, your place will be passed onto the next in the waiting list.

# All participants must be at least 18 years old and will be required to sign a Scouts Queensland Non-Member Release and Indemnity form.
# Come down & be a part of the day; bring family and friends, even as observers & meet our event organisers & group members!
# We will have Townsville Hike and Explore merchandise which will be available on the day, including shirts & caps, as well as drinks available to purchase.
# We will have a photographer / videographer capturing the event & will share imagery of the event on our Facebook Page for you to upload & share free of charge.

MEETING POINT/INFORMATION
Park at the top lookout of Castle Hill and make your way to the Townsville Hike and Explore tent.
Please be on time, and ready for your session at 7.30am sharp.
If you are late, you will not be able to abseil, as you will miss the required safety brief, equipment fitting and preliminary training.
WE WILL ALSO HAVE VOLUNTEERS AT THE PARKING LOCATION TO ASSIST YOU ON THE DAY.
Participants MUST wear closed in shoes (no thongs, sandals etc).
Harnesses, helmets, and other equipment will be provided.
