Join us on Tuesday, June 17th at 6:00pm for our Werner Wildlife Speaker Series, "Creating Wildlife Art for the Wyoming Conservation Stamp Contest" presented by award-winning artist, Justin Hayward. Justin will discuss his process for creating art for the Wyoming Conservation Stamp Contest. Topics will include landscape painting, reference photos, composition, and the use of Photoshop. He began entering the contest nine years ago and has since placed first four times, second twice, fourth once, received an Honorable Mention, and won the People’s Choice Award.
Originally from Traverse City, Michigan, Justin Hayward lives in Casper, Wyoming, with his wife, three children, and two French bulldogs. He received his BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University and an MFA in Painting from the New York Academy of Art. Justin has also studied at the Florence Academy of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and with several renowned artists throughout the country. He has been a full-time instructor of drawing and painting at Casper College since 2007. Justin has exhibited in numerous galleries and national juried shows and has completed many commissions for private collectors and businesses.
The presentation is free, family-friendly, and open to the public. It will take place in the museum’s Africa-Arctic Room. For more information, call 307-235-2108.
