Cascade Locks Quilt Walk

What? Columbia River Volkssport Club is offering a 5 km (3.1 mile) or 10 km (6.2 mile) walk to and through Marine Park, passing the Visitor Center and the Sacajawea statue, to and on Thunder Island. Back through Marine Park and into the town of Cascade Locks passing homes and businesses on the Cascade Locks Quilt Block Trail, showcasing traditional quilt blocks as small murals. The Airport Challenge is available on the 10k route only.

When? May 31--start table will be open from 9-10:30. There will be a scheduled group walk for both routes starting at 10:30 am. If you would like to join either of the Group Walks, be there early so that you have time to register beforehand, so they can start promptly at 10:30am.

Where? Corner of Wa Na Pa St and School Road will be the start location area. Use the parking lot or on-street parking. From Portland and locations west: take I-84 East to Exit 44 and follow Wa Na Pa St to the start location. From east: I-84 West to Exit 44 and continue as above.

You can do a self-guided walk or group walk as noted above. There will not be any arrows or ribbons marking either route, but instructions will be available. There will not be a checkpoint. Walkers are advised if they bring a dog with them to be sure they are on a leash.
5 km walk is rated 1A (flat, paved), 10 km walk is rated 2A (some incline, mostly paved).
Please consider a $2-3 donation per person so that the clubs can continue to offer these walks.
