Love Your Voice – USE THAT VOICE!
Spend two sessions with Ellen Lang reviewing basic singing concepts that work for all styles.
Thursday, 8/21/25 from 5 – 7pm AND
Sunday, 8/24/25 from 4 – 6pm
We’ll explore ways to expand your range, touching on “head” and “chest” voice, mixed voice, and light “ belt” voice. And….how to pick appropriate audition material.
You’ll learn some vocal exercises to help you access this range expansion.
We’ll spend some time at the end of each session addressing questions you may have.
Remember, singing is a natural expression and let’s have fun making new “noises” and exploring!
ABOUT ELLEN: Her recent background includes singing in the Metropolitan Opera Chorus, traveling around the US and Europe with a contemporary music
group called Continuum, and making recordings for the BBC, Deutsche Radio Rundfunk, and others. For several years, she was the female (all solo parts) soloist at Resorts International in Atlantic City. My Fair Lady, Porgy and Bess, Carousel, and others were shows she sang in, with orchestra. At the University of Delaware, she produced and directed Little Mary Sunshine. As an Associate Professor, she taught at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, and while there, brought Icelandic singers to the college, as well as making visits to Iceland, teaching classically trained singers how to transition to a more popular, “Golden Age of American
Musicals” sound and style. Her traveling Met-based quartet, “Live from NY” presented twice yearly themed productions of musicals selections, including many works of Noel Coward at Lincoln Center Library Auditorium, and toured Iceland with all-American music programs. Ellen is currently the Vocal Director of BTC’s production of 1776.
