Do you fancy trying wild camping?
This trip is perfect for the beginner wild camper, although seasoned campers are welcome too! We have planned for a short approach walk and will choose a sheltered camp spot. You will be accompanied by experienced leaders who will offer the support you need at every stage, from preparation to pitching your tent!
If you don’t have your own kit, we can organise for you to hire equipment from Love Her Wild Gloucestershire for a small donation.

The Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) are beautiful, with a wild and remote feel, even when relatively close to the valley, making this a perfect location for your first wild camping experience.
We will decide the exact location for our hike and camp the week before the trip, to avoid the worst of the Welsh weather, and to seek out sheltered valleys if needed. The total distance for our trip should be around 6 miles (8 miles absolute maximum), which we split equally over the two days (roughly 3 miles on the first evening, and then 3 miles back again the following day).
We always stop regularly to admire the views and rest our legs after any uphill sections. Our camp spot for the night will be chosen based on the weather – either sheltered and tucked away or (fingers crossed!) with a stunning view to enjoy!
This trip is suitable for women with some previous campsite camping experience, who already know how to pitch their tent and feel comfortable lighting their stove and cooking dinner. Because this is a wild camping expedition, there is no access to toilets, and you will need to know how to toilet in the wild for the direction of the trip. Our staff are happy to discuss the best way to do this with you before or during your trip if you need advice. You don’t need to be able to navigate as our staff will do all that for you, although if you’d like to learn, we can give you the opportunity to practice – just ask!
