Maternal Journal

Come and join us at WOMB for an inclusive and supportive Maternal Journal session, led by

queer doula Anna Rice.

Creative journaling has been linked to the reduction of Depression and Anxiety Symptoms in the postnatal period. With new mothers and parents missing out on vital mental health support, this is more important now than ever.

All supplies will be provided, apart from your journal! I would recommend one with good

quality paper. Loose sheets of paper will be available as well so you don't need to buy a journal brand new.

We will explore a prompt together and express ourselves through drawing, scribbling,

collage, painting, poetry and more!

Absolutely no artistic skill or experience is necessary - just a desire to explore parenthood in a safe and supportive setting.

Who can attend?

Anyone who is a parent (regardless of how you became one) and anyone who is pregnant -

regardless of your gender or family structure.

These sessions are for adults only, although pre-crawling babies are more than welcome.

This event is free with the aim of creating a free course in 2026. Please come along, be open to sharing your feedback and let's create something really special for mums, birthing people and parents in Cardiff! Attendance is capped at 10 people, so that the environment is calm and supportive.
