Indigo Dyeing

Come and have a go with Indigo. An introduction to the magical blue dye, including using fresh Japanese Indigo grown in Cardiff.
An introductory short session to try various techniques, using minimum tools, chemicals and processing for a range of fresh blues: salt rub, blender, hapazome and stenciling with fresh leaves plus a natural powdered indigo vat.
All materials are provided, but if you have some of your own silk or wool, cloth or yarn, you’re welcome to bring it along.
You’ll likely get blue splashes or drips so bring gloves if you’re sensitive and dress appropriately, tho i have pinnys 😊🩵
