Welcome to the second series of punk music sessions for women over 50 in South Wales, funded by Wales Millennium Centre.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Join us for a relaxed conversation with Rhys Mwyn, former frontman of pioneering Welsh punk band Yr Anhrefn and current BBC Radio Cymru presenter. Drawing from decades of experience on both sides of the microphone, Rhys will share practical insights about navigating the music industry, getting your music noticed, and the realities of radio play.
Whether you're a songwriter, performer, or simply curious about the music business, this informal session offers a rare opportunity to hear from someone who's lived it all – from the DIY punk scene to national radio. Expect honest advice, industry stories, and plenty of time for your questions in a supportive, no-pressure environment.
THE SESSION WILL BE HELD ON THE 1ST FLOOR OF WMC IN THE PRESELI ROOM - THERE ARE LIFTS AND ACCESSIBLE TOILETS.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The concept of 'Nana Punk' was created by Jude Price, who collaborated with WMC, The Cab and Efa Supertramp to create the first series of these workshops in Autumn 2024. The first series of workshops resulted in a band called The Nanaz, who's members will be participating in this Autumn's sessions and sharing their knowledge! The sessions are FREE and open to ALL women over the age of 50.
