About the event

The Butterflies and Moths of Capulin Volcano New Discoveries and Rare Species
This event does not require tickets. If any person or site claims to be selling tickets, it is a scam.

Join Simon Doneski, a PhD candidate at the University of New Mexico to discuss new discoveries made by a study of the Capulin Volcano National Monument insect collection at UNM, why these discoveries are important and some of the rare and threatened species of butterflies and moths that are found in the monument.

He will go over some specific species and the needs for those species as well as what Capulin and UNM are doing to try to help save these species. He also will discuss a new model for park service and university collections to interface with each other for the betterment of both parties.
