Alright, you magnificent Wild Buggers and all you keen followers of the VW Air-Cooled scene! Get those classic cars ready because our next adventure is just around the corner!
Our fantastic friends, Nick and Ellie, have been busy plotting a route that's pure gold for our beach buggies. This is going to be a cracker of a day for every VW Beetle, Baja Bug, and old school VW in the family.
Here’s the lowdown on the day's shenanigans:
• Meet & Greet: We're kicking things off bright and early at the N1 One Stop at 8:30 AM, with our wheels rolling out sharply at 9:00 AM. Don't be late, or you'll miss the convoy of cool!
• Coffee & Cruising: Our first leg takes us on a scenic drive to the Stellenbosch Flying Club for a well-deserved coffee stop.
• Mountain Majesty: From there, we'll hit the road again, heading for the breathtaking views at the Franschhoek Pass Lookout point. Get those cameras ready!
• Lunch Feast: Next stop, we're rumbling down to The Wagon Road Restaurant in Botrivier for a proper lunch. You'll have worked up an appetite, trust us!
• Sweet Treats & Ocean Breezes: After filling our bellies, it’s a leisurely cruise to Gordon's Bay for a lekker ice-cream – because what's a drive without a sweet reward?
• Homeward Bound (ish): Gordon's Bay marks the official end of our organized run. From there, you can peel off the convoy whenever your turnoff appears. The rest of us Wild Buggers will continue our happy journey towards N1 City direction.
This whole grand escapade is roughly 200km of pure VW Bug bliss, taking us about 6 hours from start to finish. It’s all about the camaraderie, the open road, and showing off our beloved air-cooled VWs.
