It’s 1973, and I've bunked out of the confines of boarding school to watch the movie “the Concert for Bangladesh”. Bob Dylan is performing “A Hard Rain's a-gonna Fall”. It was a visceral rushing torrent of words and images that left me breathless. This is what I want to do with my life, I realise. I want to follow the Tradition of the Troubadour, the Folk-Singer, the Storyteller, the Light-Keeper, the Truth-Speaker. To celebrate Myths, Legends and Mysteries hearking back to Man's earliest fireside Tales.

More on the Show:
“Through the mad mystic hammering of the wild ripping hail, the sky cracked its poems in naked wonder”. Bob Dylan.
“ If it be your will
That a voice be true
From this broken hill
I will sing to you
From this broken hill
All your praises they shall ring
If it be your will
To let me sing”. Leonard Cohen.
Many people seem to regard Cohen’s music as depressing. And although it may be melancholic, it always offers us hope - “There’s a crack, a crack, in everything. That’s where the light gets in.” - Leonard Cohen
Following in the footsteps of Dylan and Cohen, I want to Manifest in Song the Voice of The Sacred Muse, who occupies the twilight zone between the symbolic and the temporal. The role of the Bard, the Skald-singer, the Shaman.
Dylan’s voice is wild, unfettered- spontaneously downloaded from the ether, while Cohen’s is more studied, meticulously crafted. The one, Dionysian, the other, Apollonian.
I find their Songs both inspiring and comforting, inviting us into the mystical Realm of Poetry and Social Commentary, lifting us from the mundane and ordinary, into a deeper self-examination and understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Join me in celebrating the Works of these finest Song-Poets of our time. Two Masters who inspired me to dare to write my own lyrics and music in the Legacy they have gifted us.
"The enigmatic Bill Knight, is a masterful songwriter whose music is rich with the textures of Cape history, folklore, and a poetic reverence for the land. Knight’s work is a vital thread in the fabric of South African folk, offering stories that resonate deeply with listeners both near and far."
