⭐HECTOR LAVOE is one of the most important contributors to the success of the Salsa genre. He brought Puerto Rican influences onto the New York music scene. He was signed with the FANIA record label and joined with trombonist Willie Colon and recorded a string of hits.
⭐Hector built his reputation as “El Cantante De Los Cantantes” and was inducted into the 2000 International Latin Music Hall of Fame. His life story inspired the 2001 off-Broadway play starring Domingo Quinones and the 2007 biopic “El Cantante” starring Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. In 2023 Hector LaVoe was listed as one of the 200 greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.
