David Leigh Swazey, 59, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on April 25, 2025.
Born on August 27, 1965, in Milo, Maine, David was a one-of-a-kind soul who lived life with joy, humor, and deep compassion. He loved spending time with friends, singing karaoke, watching sports, playing hide and seek with his granddaughters, and enjoying a good cigar downtown. Whether he was selling homes as a dedicated real estate agent or working alongside his longtime friend Ozzie at Taco Works, David brought energy, kindness, and laughter to everything he did.
David was a true believer in forgiveness and living each day to its fullest. His ability to make everyone feel like the most important person in the room was a gift that touched countless lives.
He was preceded in death by his father Earl Swazey, his stepfather Allen Bragdon, and his beloved daughter Ashlee Swazey. He is survived by his son Ethan Swazey, daughter Brytney Swazey, sister Leslie Swazey, mother Dianne Bragdon, and his two cherished granddaughters, Cora and Chloe Weissgerber.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on May 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Cape Christian in Cape Coral, Florida. In honor of David’s vibrant personality and his request for joy over sorrow, guests are asked to wear bright and happy colors to the service.
David’s love, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
