Studio 208 is excited to welcome local artist, Shannon Zimmerman, to teach a Chalk Hand-lettering workshop. This is a two hour class, open to all levels. We ask that participants be 12+ years of age or be capable of working independently. This is a great workshop for craft enthusiasts and DIYers.
In this class, we will learn how to design a sign: what types of fonts work together and how to space letters; how to map out your design from paper to board so it turns out exactly as you want it; and the techniques for using chalk markers. Each participant will be provided their own chalkboard and chalk markers to make a unique chalkboard sign. The final piece is perfect to use as home decor or to give as a gift!
Cost is $65/each or bring a friend with 2 tickets for $120.

• piece of traditional chalk
• set of chalk markers (1 white + 4 colors)

A note from our instructor, Shannon: I’ve had an interest in arts and crafts since I was young. I’m a "jack of all trades" sort, including ceramics, painting, collage, and needle work, but I enjoy various forms of lettering the most. I like using chalk markers because they are vibrant, precise, and won’t smudge once they’ve dried. We will be exploring various lettering styles and chalk marker techniques so that you can create a unique piece of artwork for your home. I’ll also explain how you can reset your chalkboard for seasonal/rotating signage.
