In celebration of National Pollinator Week, June 16-22, we are hosting a guided tour of our UNH/ME Certified Pollinator Friendly Meadow. While this celebration lasts one week at the height of summer, pollinators need our assistance year-round! If you do not keep a beehive, then it’s likely that native pollinators are visiting your yard and garden!
During this tour you’ll get a pollinator’s eye-view of what they are looking for in terms of food, shelter, and protection. You will leave with ideas that you can implement in your own yard and garden. Sometimes it’s about the things you DON'T have to do that helps the pollinators!
The tour will be on Wednesday, June 18 from 2-3 PM. Registration is required (at
https://petalsinthepines.com/reservations), and the cost is $10 per person. Please NO pets.
Over the past 25+ years, we have steadily converted a portion of Petals in the Pines’ 7.5 acres of woodland to pollinator habitat. Once completely surrounded by trees, now we are in the midst of open spaces filled with flowers and features that attract bees, butterflies, moths, and many bird species.
In 2023 we were certified as a Pollinator Friendly Garden by the UNH/ME Cooperative Extension (
