This popular traditional jazz band hailing from the Illawarra was formed some 33 years ago by trumpet player Bob Netting and was known as ‘Capt Bob’s Station House Seven’.
Following the sad passing of “Capt Bob” in June 2023, the band has continued in his honour as the ‘Station House Seven’.
The line-up on this occasion will see a return of regular band members, leader Gordon Brown on piano, Denis Langley on trumpet, Bob Porter on reeds, Colin Davies on bass, Dennis Quinlan on banjo and John Dent on drums. Joining the band will be guest trombonist David Saxon from Wagga Wagga.
Lovers of the lively and energetic jazz form that is New Orleans style Dixieland jazz are in for a treat.
Classic Dixieland jazz is rarely heard these days and it is extra special when delivered by such seasoned musicians. You don’t want to miss a performance by the Station House Seven!
