Opening this Friday is a new suite of exhibitions at Tuggeranong Arts Centre.
TRUE: KEVIN GILBERT
(1933 - 1993)
An exhibition of prints and poetry by Kevin Gilbert, that recalls the artist, the writer and the activist, beginning in what would have been his 92nd year. Celebrate his life and art with images and poetry created during his lifetime along with some works editioned for the first time. The exhibition expresses Gilbert’s core themes of a spiritual presence enhancing the cultural survival of his People against the seemingly insurmountable odds in an oppressive colonial system through lino prints, poetry and photography.
RECHELLE TURNER & MEGAN DALEY
From Country
A collaborative exhibition by Megan Daley (Ngunnawal/Wiradjuri) and Rechelle Turner (Wiradjuri) that delves into their deep-rooted connection to Country and the timeless stories it holds. This continuation of their artistic partnership is the vision behind their fashion label, Corella & Crow, which celebrates the resilience and beauty of Ngunnawal and Wiradjuri cultures. From Country invites audiences to experience the layers of heritage, identity, and belonging that inspire Megan and Rechelle’s creative journey, honouring the landscapes, wisdom, and spirit of country that shape and sustain their work.
