The Vision of the Night of Surrender (NOS)
A recurring theme throughout Scripture is the call to surrender to God. Unlike yielding to our instinctual interests — which are often selfish and destructive — surrendering to God means denying self, taking up His cross, and pursuing truth and righteousness above all else (Matthew 16:24–25).
Entrusted to the Royal Priesthood Choir and Praise Band of Macedonia Baptist Church, Buea, in 2017, the Night of Surrender (NOS) is an annual worship encounter that brings together sons and daughters of the faith in an atmosphere of deep, unhindered worship — yielding to His Lordship and receiving grace to live surrendered lives. This is done in a bid to provoke His manifest presence — not as a one-time proposition, but as a lifelong quest.
We are commissioned to lead believers into new and deeper experiences with God through a lifestyle of surrender — a call that transcends both denominational and geographical boundaries.
As appealing as that may sound, we understand that surrendering to Christ strikes a decisive blow to the flesh — confronting our stubborn, weak, and often independent hearts. Yet, convinced that there are heights and depths in Christ we can only reach when we bow, we choose to trust God for the grace to conform to His will. We surrender not out of fear or compulsion, but in hope — believing that the One to whom we surrender has a better life for us. And that hope does not disappoint.
