Free the River Paddle-In

Join NRCM, Megunticook RiverKeepers, Penobscot Nation Dept. of Natural Resources, and other local partners for a community paddle and rally to support the removal of the Montgomery Dam.

This is a family-friendly, educational event to celebrate healthy rivers, clean water, and thriving wildlife — and to call attention to the upcoming town vote on restoring a free-flowing Megunticook.

What to Expect:

10:00 AM – Paddle In! Bring your kayak, canoe, SUP, or dinghy and join the flotilla. Meet at the bottom of the Falls (on water or on land).

10:40 AM – Speakers in Harbor Park, including NRCM's Woods, Waters & Wildlife Director Luke Frankel

10:00–2:00 – Visit educational tables hosted by partners including Herring Gut Coastal Science Center (touch tank!), Downeast Salmon Federation, Georges River Trout Unlimited, Megunticook Riverkeeper, and NRCM
