Cambridge Ukulele's bi-weekly jam session is on this Sunday. The details are:
Date/Time: 17th August from 3pm to 5pm
Place: The Elm Tree. A relaxed, friendly pub with great beer, if beer's your thing.
Attendees: As fine a group of human beans as you're likely to meet.
What happens: We (more or less randomly) sing/play as many songs as we can squeeze into our allotted time from our songbook.
Ability Level: No requirement (TBH you don't even need a Ukulele. Just come along for the vibe).
Musicality: Variable. Having said that, sometimes we do nail it.
Likelihood of Fun: > 95%
I've taken it upon myself to keep a list of the songs we sang on previous sessions (
https://msb.github.io/songs-sung#songs-sung-by-cambridge-ukulele-on-03082025). I honestly don't know if anybody is remotely interested in this information. However, it did keep my little man brain happy for a few hours and I think that's the important thing.
There are a few more additions/tweeks to our book (
https://msb.me.uk/resources/cambridge-ukulele.pdf). After our lovely impromptu rendition of "Moon River" (ably led by Stuart) I was inspired to add it in.
- Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd (I fixed it up)
- Way You Look Tonight, The - Fred Astaire (a version with easier chords)
- Moon River - Andy Williams
I hope to see you soon,
Mike
