Georgia stands at a critical crossroads as anti-Western disinformation narratives increasingly influence its political landscape and public discourse. Since the onset of Russia’s war against Ukraine, Georgia has faced a sharp escalation in disinformation campaigns aimed at undermining its Euro-Atlantic aspirations. These narratives, driven by both external and internal actors, frame the West as a threat to Georgia’s sovereignty and traditional values, eroding trust in democratic institutions and civil society. With the 2024 parliamentary elections serving as a flashpoint, such rhetoric has reached new intensity. This event will examine the origins, evolution, and strategic aims of these narratives, and their implications for Georgia’s democratic future and integration with the West.
