Collaborative play is at the heart of all that we create and present: our Classes with the Click series is rooted in our philosophy of recognizing the power of individual voice in conjunction with the power of collective presence. Lonnie Stanton will lead this special weekend edition of Classes with The Click, and you can expect a contemporary technique class full of texture, exploration, and an abundance of options to help your body find joyful movement that fits your needs.
This class is offered ONE DAY ONLY at The Foundry as part of our weekend workshop Dance, Discover, Develop. If you like class, come join us for our weekly series at The Dance Complex, Tuesdays 10-11:30am.
DANCE, DISCOVER, DEVELOP
Join The Click for a class or two… or three! These workshops can be taken a la carte, or mix & match for a mini-intensive experience. The day will start with our classic pro-level class, “Class with the Click”, then we’ll head outside for some sun & snacks before the next open-level class, “Creative Cross-Training” designed for anyone with an open-mind excited to create or collaborate between artistic genres. Make sure to bring your sunscreen & a towel! For the July edition of DDD only, the day will end with a FREE weekend edition of Community Contemporary, which will take us outside to the Timothy Toomey Jr. Park across from The Foundry.

ABOUT LONNIE:
Lonnie Stanton is a proud native Hawaiian raised in rural Northern California and based in Boston. For the last decade Lonnie has been committed to dance education with a strong somatic focus as well as a professional contemporary performance career. She graduated from the Boston Conservatory with a BFA in Dance (2009) and has completed her 200 hour yoga certification through Yogaworks (2011). For 10 years she worked with Prometheus Dance performing and teaching with the company. Lonnie is a freelance dancer performing with Jean Appolon Expressions, Peter DiMuro/ Public Displays of Motion, Callie Chapman, and Lynn Model. During her time dancing in NYC, she worked with Kinesis Project Dance Theater focusing solely on site specific performance. Stanton is passionate about sharing dance in unconventional, often outdoor spaces where a broad audience can be reached. She has choreographed for the American Repertory Theater, Somerville Arts Council, Neoscape (advertisement), Tamara Al- Mashouk, Silvi Naci, Moe Pope, and Toni Lester. They are thrilled to be an artist-in-residence at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Lonnie is on faculty at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, The Harvard Dance Center, and Deborah Mason School of Dance. Bringing dance education into public schools through Notes in Motion, New York City Ballet, and Boston Ballet has been especially rewarding to Lonnie.
ABOUT THE CLICK:
Spearheaded in 2021, The Click is an experiment in organization, connection, and collaboration among a group of like-minded creative spirits living, making, teaching, and studying in the Greater Boston area. We are a group of dancers whose primary medium of physical expression is through contemporary forms but who dabble and play in many modes of creativity. Whether we spend our time sliding along the marley of a dance studio, weaving fibers, painting, or writing poetry, we are each deeply invested in answering the universally complex question that might play across your mind as well: who am I and what I am doing here?
