"Do you want to try somewhere new to paddle in Scotland? Why don't you come along with us to paddle a round trip on Loch Ard, near Aberfoyle. This stunning Loch offers views of the famous Robb Roy cave and the remains of Duke Murdoch's Castle along the way. If you like to explore some of Scotland's history, then this is the adventure for you!
There is also an authentic Scottish bothy situated on the Island of Eileen Gorm, where we can stop off to enjoy a bite to eat during our paddle. This may also be an opportunity for some to see what a bothy actually looks like inside.
If we are lucky enough, we may also get to spot some of the rather large and stunning Ospreys that live around the Loch before they take flight for the winter. There is wildlife in abundance in the area, such as, red squirrels, roe deer, various birds and if your very lucky, you may see the occassional capercaillie moving around.
This trip is suitable for relative beginners and all other levels, as it is a beautiful, calm and scenic loch, all you need to have is a little stamina to allow you to complete the distance of this adventure which can be up to 6 miles.
