We're excited to invite you to the Strides Second Annual Bookley Mardathon – Smut, Sweat & Tears Edition. Please plan to join us at 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 6th at Strides Marda Loop (3566 Garrison Gate SW) for the premier literary running event in Calgary, celebrating UNESCO International Literacy Day.
The Bookley Mardathon 2025 blends ultramarathon trail running (*on the mean streets of Marda Loop, Altadore and Bankview) with a unique literary scavenger hunt approximately 10km in distance, through some of Calgary’s best neighbourhoods in search of high brow – but mostly low brow – literature!
Here are some key details about the event:
Date and Time: Saturday, September 6th - starting at 9:00 AM
Start/End Location: Strides Marda Loop (3566 Garrison Gate SW)
Course: ~10 km route between designated neighborhood Little Free Libraries
Mission: Prove yourself by collecting book pages matching your bib number from designated neighborhood Little Free Libraries along the route
Bonus: Celebrate literacy by coming dressed as your favourite literary character, book, or scene AND bring books to donate to the Little Free Libraries along the way!
