This class series will enhance each participant's ability to:
Stand comfortably under a heavy (wriggling) load for basing standing acro.
Jump and press into upside-down positions like for flying star and hand-to-hand,
Re-stack dynamic loads by training single-leg strength, mobility, and stability as is required to L-base advanced skills.
Find a beautiful handstand line by enhancing shoulder and hip range of motion while under (self) load.
The series is a single one-on-one session with the coach Bryce Hodgkinson followed by six group sessions. The series is capped at 6 participants to allow for semi-personalized training.
Each participant will train at their own level for each of the four dimensions listed above. During the one-on-one session booked before the group sessions begin, we will find the low-intensity drills (often lying on the floor in a specific way) which will immediately increase hip and shoulder flexibility. The low-intensity drills will then be done as daily homework so the increased flexibility becomes permanent.
Learnings about what increases each participant's hip and shoulder flexibility will then be integrated into the 5 strength training sessions. This contributes to the semi-individualized nature of the series. Participants who have already completed testing to find their low-intensity drills with Bryce may choose a different focus for the one on one session.
Bryce Hodgkinson is a personal trainer with 8 years of experience, focused on helping clients move smoothly and powerfully regardless of how much they work at a desk. He is also an acroyoga teacher and has practiced acroyoga for over 13 years.
Group sessions are Wednesday at 6PM until 7PM, July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and Aug 6. Upon registration, Bryce Hodgkinson will contact you to book your one-on-one session to take place before July 2.
